At the fourth grade level, students will discover the voting process as individuals, teammates, and a whole class. Each day, students will explore one aspect of voting in America. By the end of the unit, students should have a clear understanding of the importance of voting, the workings of a democracy, and the voting process. They will also take part in a vote that affects their classroom.

This lesson provides 2nd and 3rd grade students with an introduction to Michigan State Flag. Students will learn to identify the parts of the flag and understand what the flag represents. This lesson will provide students with an understanding of an important Michigan symbol. Students will learn be able to make a meaningful association of the flag and how it represents them.
